↑/W gas · ↓/S brake · ←→ steer. Corners really turn: steer through them.
DRIFT
Hold Space or Shift while turning. Sparks go blue, orange, then purple. Let go for a turbo.
ITEMS
Smash the ? boxes. E uses an item or throws it ahead, Q drops or throws it behind you. Racers at the back get the strongest stuff.
HUGE DROPS
Some roads climb to a crest and then fall away. You fly off the edge and land on the road far below.
PUDDLES
Hit a puddle and you aquaplane for 5 seconds: the car slides and barely turns. Steer around the dark shiny patches.
LIGHTNING
A glowing blue ring means lightning is about to strike there. Drive into it and you get a huge electric speed surge.
FLYING
Through a TAKE OFF gate your wings fold out. ↑ climbs, ↓ dives. Fly through rings to boost.
SLIPSTREAM
Tuck in right behind another car for a second to get a free boost.
SHORTCUTS
Every track hides a shortcut: a glowing chevron ramp at the edge of the road. Hit it fast and you leap across the infield, skipping a big chunk of road. Too slow and it is just a bump. Follow the floating sparkles.
AIR TRICKS
In the air, press Space to do a trick: hold ←/→ for a barrel roll, ↑ for a front flip, ↓ for a backflip, or nothing for a 360. Land it for a boost, and chain more for a bigger one. Still flipping when you land? Crash.
NEAR MISSES
Slip past cars, hazards, rockets and monster attacks without touching them for a small boost. Keep them coming within 4 seconds to build a combo.
BOSS RACES
In 👹 Boss Race, and the last race of every Grand Prix, a giant monster chases the pack on the final lap. Outrun it to the line for +300 coins.
JET MODE
When you take off your car transforms into a jet. ↑ climbs, ↓ dives, ←→ slide sideways and Space fires the afterburner. With no input the jet glides toward the next ring.
MONSTERS
Every place has a monster: a sandworm, a yeti, a kraken, a jungle rex, a lava golem, a treant, a glitch spider, a robo kaiju or a UFO. Red marks show where it will strike. Dodge them for a free boost.
SKY RACE
Pick ✈ Sky Race on the menu to fly the whole lap of any track, high above the scenery.
SPLIT ROADS
An island splits the road in two. One side has a boost pad, the other has coins. Pick fast!
SANDSTORMS & BLIZZARDS
Deserts and snowy peaks have strong gusts that push every car sideways and hide the road. Hold your line.
ROCKET START
Hit the gas just as the last light goes out, not before.
